溫哥華西區(通常簡稱"溫西")

Vancouver West Side is made up of many neighbourhoods with distinctly different flavours; from the stunning view homes in Point Grey and UBC, to the character homes in Mount Pleasant and Douglas Park; from the huge lots in South Granville and Shaughnessy to the beachside cottages on Kits Point. What they all have in common are incredible parks, schools and amenities in the most accessible location for both Downtown and YVR, making Vancouver West Side one of the best places North America to own a family home!

隸屬於大溫地區重要城市的溫哥華, 在歷史上以甘比街(Cambie Street)或緬街(Main Street)為分水嶺 -- 其西多為醫生, 律師, 大學教授等居民, 而其東則多為紡織工, 伐木工. 今天這樣的階級分野已不明顯, 但在房價, 居住環境及品質方面仍有一定的差異.

溫西, 溫東分界曾經也是百萬房價的分界, 但隨著近年房價高漲, 也有人玩笑說分界線已經東移到菲沙街 (Fraser Street), 往西都算溫西. 但其實技術上分界線是 Ontario Street, 夾在Cambie Street和Main Street之間.

溫西區南接菲沙河 (Fraser River), 東臨溫哥華東區 (Vancouver Eastside), 北至格蘭威爾島及福溪區 (Granville Island/False Creek area), 西至佐治亞海峽. 溫西區有12個社區分別是: Fairview, Mount Pleasant, Kitsilano, West Point Grey, University of British Columbia (UBC), Dunbar-Southlands, Arbutus Ridge, Shaughnessy, Oakridge, South Cambie, Kerrisdale, 以及Marpole.

溫哥華西區古木參天, 海景山色令人嘆為觀止, 擁有多處在國際上享有盛譽的美麗海灘, 如基斯蘭奴海灘 (Kitsilano Beach), 杰里科海灘 (Jericho Beach), 羅卡諾海灘 (Locarno Beach), 西班牙海灘 (Spanish Banks Beach), 以及UBC沈船海灘 (Wrack Beach), 如同一顆顆美麗的珍珠鑲崁在溫哥華西區.

此外, 溫西由於城市發展的歷史較久, 城區規劃和建設也相當成熟和完善. 區內還了本地著名的大中小學校, 人文氣息濃厚. 享譽全球的著名大學 -- 英屬哥倫比亞大學 (University of British Columbia, 簡稱UBC, 中譯名又作"卑斯大學") 坐落於區內. 此外區內一流的公私立中小學, 也吸引了眾多望子成龍的中國移民家庭.

再有, 溫哥華西區有著西溫, 北溫無可比擬的最大優點是交通, 生活, 工作都極為方便. 去大溫任何一個地方, 比如到Downtown, 機場, 及新, 老唐人街都不太遠.

也正因為如此, 溫哥華西區不僅一直是大溫房價數一數二的地區, 其租貸市場也越來被投資客看好. 市場上偶見千萬豪宅掛牌, 市價在300萬~500萬加元的豪宅則較多集中在桑那斯區 (Shaughnessy) 及南格蘭維爾區 (South Granville). 住在溫西西端 UEL (University Endowment Lands) 千萬豪宅裡的主人們, 不僅可以坐在家中就可觀賞群山和大海等美景, 而且可以經常就近到坐落在校園內的陳氏藝術中心 (Chan Centre), 聆聽世界一流的演奏家和樂團的精彩演出.
