Alan moved to Vancouver when he was 14. He graduated from the prestigious University of British Columbia (UBC) and has a master degree in Electrical Engineering. He has worked abroad in Asia and Europe for 11 years in the semiconductor field, and held several roles in hardware engineering, strategic marketing and contract negotiation.

Alan loves to read, plays sports and travels with his wife. Their travel photos were awarded and put on display at Taipei World Trade centre. He completed a marathon in Amsterdam in 2014 before moving back to Vancouver. He now participates in local basketball and softball teams.
